Welcome Message from the Organizing Committee
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 8th Cavitation and Multi-phase flows workshop, to be held at MAICh Conference Centre in Chania, Greece, between 27th-28th August 2026.
The workshop is designed for academics, researchers and engineers interested in the complex dynamics of relevant fluid systems. This intensive session will cover the fundamentals of cavitation physics, bubble dynamics, and modeling techniques for multiphase flows, alongside practical applications in marine propulsion, turbomachinery, energy systems, and biomedical devices. Participants will gain insights from expert speakers, explore modern experimental and computational methods, and engage in discussions that bridge theory with real-world engineering challenges. Whether you are new to the field or looking to deepen your expertise, this workshop offers a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate, and advance your understanding of cavitating and multiphase flow phenomena. As in our previous events, we believe that it will play a key role in advancing benchmark experimental datasets and modelling frameworks for the ide range of applications where such flow cases encounter.
The symposium hosts keynote presentations by world-leading experts, open scientific contributions and posters. Moreover, industry experts will participate and discuss challenges and future perspectives.
During the workshop, we will pay tribute to the life-achievements of three distinguished colleagues in the field:
Prof Tom van Terwisga (TU Delft and Marin)
Prof Mohammed Farhat (EPFL)
Prof John Carlton (City St George’s University London)
We welcome you to participate and contribute to this event for a productive and inspiring experience in Chania.
Warm regards,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee
